Who We Are

The ADDA is dedicated to serving as a voice for the deportation defense bar and improving the fairness and humanity of deportation proceedings. We also serve as a resource for the press, Congressional offices, and individuals and stakeholders interested in learning more about how our Immigration Courts function, and how they can be improved.

February 27th, 2020 - COME FILL YOUR CUP: You can't pour from an empty cup...take care of yourself first.

6:30 p.m. – Serafina Tribeca

A panel of individuals will lead us as we explore some ways to take care of ourselves in these trying times.  Learn how important mindfulness is to keeping you grounded with the the challenges we face as immigration attorneys.

 

Join us as we explore traditional and alternative modalities of self care, including meditation, yoga and more.  Now more than ever we need to take care of ourselves so we can take care of others.

January 16th, 2020 - PREPARING WINNING MOTIONS TO RE-OPEN - Panelist & Coordinator: Former Immigration Judge, Jeffrey S. Chase

A panel of former Immigration Judges will present a survey of key points to raise when preparing your motion; guidance on structuring your motion; and will discuss requirements for raising a claim of ineffective assistance by prior counsel.  

November 21 - Best Practices Before the B.I.A.

Lory Rosenberg, a distinguished immigration attorney, and former member of the B.I.A., be provided our members with an overview of “Best Practices Before the B.I.A.”

December 19 - ADDA Holiday Celebration
